Clermont is a sprawling and unmistakably Queensland town perched on a hill. There is a replica piano high in the crook of a gum tree as a reminder of the 1916 floodwaters that really did leave a piano perched 32 feet up a tree.
It is believed the town drew its name from Clermont-Ferrand in France, the home of Oscar de Satge who at the time was the owner of Wolfang Downs. Source: http://www.queensland.com

Although at Gayndah beside the Burnett River we saw aTV and a chair…the real deal…high up in the trees. It’s hard to imagine what the flood must have been like.

Is it fixed in place? Would hate for it to become dislodged with age or another storm and injure someone 🙀

Better than a flood gauge to get the message across.
