We take a break at Cowell on the Eyre Peninsula where a Sunday market is flourishing. Although it is early morning the grand stone pubs are open for business and one pub overlooks acres of mangroves. Locals are selling olives and quandongs (wild peaches) and Devonshire teas. There’s live music and the air is warm and friendly but I’m sure that next Wednesday’s ‘Pig & Potato Spit Roast’ at the pub would be pretty good too.
It took a while for me to spot the little dog, should have just followed the Border Collie’s eyes.

‘Devonshire teas’? That sounds a little anachronistic!

As strange as it may seem it’s very popular here.
