After last nights’ cane burn (Burdekin Cane Farm) tiny black slivers of burnt cane trash cover everything, but I’m told the trick is to leave it to dry out and it will just blow away (or to pull your awning in every afternoon). There is a golden sunrise over the cane fields and a flock of ducks rise from the lagoon. Geese wander about the vans doing whatever geese do.
