Banned on the Run, Day 5 – Nambucca Heads

Day 5 Monday 15/6/20, One Mile Beach to Nambucca Heads, 13 – 20

Possums were dancing on the roof last night.

Our brand-new brake snatch strap unit has broken off. Add that to the breakages list.

We stop for a rest at Bulahdelah and by chance run into the Bowls Club President. Three years ago we spent 3 nights camped at the Bulah Bowlo and loved it. But since then we’d heard that the local caravan park forced all the freedom camping in the town to close. This had a dramatic affect on business. The president tells us that the Bowls Club will re open to campers within the month and they’ll also take over management of Showgrounds camping. We make a note of that for next time.

The drive is tiring but we press on to Nambucca Heads with a couple of rest area stops to stretch our legs and give the poor dog a pee.

Having stayed here twice before The Ingenia White Albatross caravan park feels like home. We’ve even got neighbours who were here last time we stayed, back in September. Woody dashes down to Woolies for a piece of Roast Pork and we retire early.

Accom: $32.00 (all amenities and spotless)

Fuel: $47.87

Travelling Kms: 346kms

Breakages: Brake snatch strap

White Albatross Caravan Park, Nambucca Heads, NSW. Feels like home

Note: The Bulahdelah Bowls Club is a great spot to base yourself to tour the nearby Myall lakes and after a busy day touring the meals at the Bowlo really hit the spot.

  1. I feel like I’m reading a book and am desperate to check out the last page to see how it ends. Last year I swore we would be in the warm north this winter but Covid, the border closures and a camper battery issue so far have put an end to that for us and we’re still here in the miserable cold. 😦
