Banned on the Run, Day 47 – Ear, ear

Day 47 Monday 27/7/20 Wooli, windy There’s more water coming from the hot water pipe under the bed. What a bugger! We may not have river views but we’ve got the best sites in the park as the wind is now blowing hard across the river. After all the washing Mother Nature is now doing the drying. The boys manage to find sunny spots to read their morning papers and things get back to ‘normal’. What a bonus this week has been having free accommodation (1st week $42.00, 2nd week free). We book sites back at Evans Head for the … Continue reading Banned on the Run, Day 47 – Ear, ear

Banned on the Run, Day 45 – Huh? is for Hospital

Day 45 Saturday 25/7/20 Wooli, bloody wet 16 After a good night’s sleep Woody is much better but can barely hear with hearing aids. Around lunchtime we drive into Coffs Harbour, mask up and enter the Emergency Department. Our temperature is checked and we pass the necessary Covid questions. A man and his little girl enter. The nurse asks “Have you been to Melbourne or Sydney?” “No” he replies “and I’ve never even been to Melbourne.” “We’ve been to Grafton!” Says his daughter proudly. Woody is checked thoroughly for possible heart and stroke issues and the problem is suspected to … Continue reading Banned on the Run, Day 45 – Huh? is for Hospital

Banned on the Run, Day 37 – Wooli

Day 37 Friday 17/7/20 Evans Head to Wooli, sunny 21 When we arrived here at Evans Head this site was difficult to get into because the front of the site was on a steep slope. As we had anticipated it is also hard to hook the van up as it is much higher than the car’s tow bar. Woody tackles it from a sharp angle and gets the van on the tow bar but we can’t get the jack unhooked. El Prado puts his Trailermate jack under the drawbar and they eventually get enough height to get the jack free. … Continue reading Banned on the Run, Day 37 – Wooli

Follow the Sun, Day 52 – Wooli or wonti?

Day 52, 3/9/2019 Tuesday Chinderah to Wooli, 27 We pull out of the park into peak hour traffic but thankfully most of the traffic is going north to the Gold Coast. Further enhancing my theory that Brisbane, Gold Coast & Sunshine Coast are rapidly merging into one very large city. Woody wants to know where they’re all going. How quickly we forget that some people do work. We’re contemplating this when we start bouncing. Oh shit! Not a puncture. We pull over and check the tyres, the car, the van. Gotcha! Bloody New South Wales concrete roads! We always forget … Continue reading Follow the Sun, Day 52 – Wooli or wonti?
