We were up early to take Double or ‘Nuthin and Shirley to the Yeppoon Farmer’s Market which turned out to be a bit of a non-event. Double or ‘Nuthin had been told to look for the pineapple juice. He found it and bought some, frozen, in an old vinegar bottle. Demand must be fierce as they don’t even have the time to soak the labels off the bottles. Anyway, he reckons it was good. Aug 2019, Mulambin, Capricorn Coast, Qld With the Prado’s we go in search of Zilzie, it’s the next town to Emu Park and what a great name Zilzie is, wouldn’t you love to tell people that you live in Zilzie? However we manage to get ourselves a little lost. Woody jumps out of the car and asks a local, who’s washing his car,  where we can find Zilzie. Mulambin Mumblings – Emu Park Market

Aug 2019, Emu Park, Capricorn Coast, Qld Emu Park farmer’s market is under the shade of the beach almond trees in a pretty park sandwiched between the caravan park and the beach. The location lends to the atmosphere. The beach almonds with their large red and green leaves, the colourful stalls and glimpses of glittering ocean. At last we find pineapple jam and Joyce the jam maker tells us that she simply cuts the pineapple, boils it, adds sugar and pectin and that’s it. Bloody lovely, we reckon. Aug 2019, Mulambin, Capricorn Coast, Qld We’ve had a relaxing time in the Yeppoon area with Woody the Elder and my sister in law, the Really Good Golfer but before they head south to the Goldie (Qld speak for Gold Coast, as opposed to Sunny for Sunshine Coast) we’re joined by old mates ‘Double or Nuthin’ Daz’ and his missus ‘Shirley’ (as in “I’m not drinking tonight, my body’s a temple”). Mulambin Mumblings – Cautious Curlews

Aug 2019, Mulambin, Capricorn Coast, Qld One never tires of the coastal drive between Emu Park and Yeppoon. The sea is sparkling and we can see the sandy beaches on Great Keppel Island. Even though it is Sunday, Emu Park is busy and coffee shop patrons are spilling out onto the street chasing the sun. Writing this I am being watched by a curlew and two lizards.
