Like a Rollingstone, Day 81 – A Beaut Butchery

Day 81 Friday, 29/7/2016, Bundaberg to Murgon, warm We wake to a mild morning after the first cold night in quite a while. Our mate El Prado had recommended the smoked meat butcher at Kilkivan (pronounced Killkeev’n) so we set off on a long haul shopping trip. Through Gin Gin and our favourite spot Childers, on to Sexie Coffie in Maryborough for some more freshly roasted beans then we turn west off the God awful Bruce Highway (we’re over highway traffic) through pretty little towns to Kilkivan. Like a Rollingstone, Day 79 – Time to go

Day 79 Wednesday, 27/7/2016, Yeppoon, warm At last the car is ready. The part had been sent to the service centres’ old address. On our way to do the shopping in Yeppoon we were seduced by Rosslyn Bay Seafoods down at the marina. We quickly returned to camp, broke out the white wine and ripped into a mess of prawns. The shopping can wait. Continue reading Like a Rollingstone, Day 77 – Seafood Therapy

like a Rollingstone, Day 72 – Zippy little wheels

Day 72 Wednesday, 20/7/2016, Yeppoon, mild 24 A sunny morning with a light breeze and perfect for a cuppa outside and a chat with our neighbours from Chelsea, Vic. We catch the local bus out front and tour the suburbs of Yeppoon and all the way to Rocky airport where the hire car is waiting. Woody is right, it is an interesting way to travel and the driver is teaching another driver the intricacies of this route. We now know when to apply the brakes for each bus stop. I’ll bet that will come in handy, perhaps not. The two … Continue reading like a Rollingstone, Day 72 – Zippy little wheels
