Day 15 Thursday 10/6/21 Casino, sunny cool breeze Cool with bright sunshine. There are heavy snowfalls in the highlands of NSW, floods and gale force winds in Victoria. We’re grateful to have dodged that weather. Victoria will ease Covid restrictions tonight but Melburnians will still be limited to a 25km radius. MV and her husband Silicon (he’s a builder who’s always extolling the virtues of silicon) have had their Covid test, emptied their toilet (as per park instructions) and are now awaiting their results. They must not leave their site, so Silicon sits outside shouting to the neighbours (God, he … Continue reading Capricorn Dancers, Day 15 – Waiting in Casino
Day 14 Wednesday 9/6/21 Casino, 10-18 rain cool wind Gentle rain overnight rinses the dust off the car and van. We have a quiet day to rest and clean the van from top to bottom. The rain stops at 10:30am then a fierce cold wind dries everything off and forces us to pull the awning in. Which doesn’t sound like much, but and I know this might sound strange, the van never feels like home until the awning is out. Just ask any Aussie caravanner. We intend to visit Queensland on Friday which will be our 16th day out of … Continue reading Capricorn Dancers, Day 14 – Dodging the weather

Day 9 Friday 4/6/21 Darlington Point to Lake Cargelligo, grey cold wet 11 Cotton, rice, citrus, wine, the farms become more abundant as we approach Griffith. Handily, both Bunnings (hardware) and Aldi are on the Kidman and it’s easy to find parking. Veewee finds a caravan step and we stock up on groceries. As we’re keen to buy wine we skirt the CBD and head straight to De Bortoli Wines where we are quickly relieved of $200 or so by the super saleswoman, the one who attended to our needs last November when we came through here with The Prado’s. … Continue reading Capricorn Dancers, Day 9 – You can’t knock back a bargain
