Tucked in the hills a mere 14kms south of Castlemaine, Vic is the tiny, wee hamlet of Vaughan Springs. This was once a gold mining area and a young lad by the name of Jim Paull was working in the … Continue reading Vaughan Springs
Fill ‘er Up
The historic town of Maldon in Central Victoria with its flagstone footpaths and deep granite gutters was a forgotten town for many years. Thankfully being bypassed for a while preserved Maldon’s village feel for the enjoyment of future generations. Pretty little shops, miner’s cottages with rambling old world gardens and this old garage with kerbside (and for safety’s sake, modern) pumps. Continue reading Fill ‘er Up

There is a wide tract of sand stretching into the ocean and 4WD’s are parked on the sand, people are fishing. Bi centennial park is on a rise where the old pilot station once stood, the … Continue reading Harrington

Imbil
Winter 2017, Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Qld While staying nearby we drive to Imbil, the town with the desirable dump point (as there isn’t one where we are camped at Kandanga). On delightful Yabba Creek, Imbil is marginally larger than Kandanga. … Continue reading Imbil
Terminus Hotel, Tocumwal
August 2017 We’re back in Tocumwal and we wake to the sounds of the Murray, a million birds shrieking and singing, a rowdy cacophony. It brings back so many memories, the warmth of a tent on a summer morning and … Continue reading Terminus Hotel, Tocumwal
