I know, it makes an awful mind picture and of course another damned uncomfortable night. That’ll teach me for wandering around pubs in the dark. Aug 2019, Mulambin, Capricorn Coast, Qld Every night at Mulambin Dave from Gippsland pops into the camp kitchen to cook dinner on the BBQ. Tonight, he tells us he is cooking Bolognaise Sauce…on the barbie. That raises our eyebrows. As we chat Dave is chasing mince steak and onions around the hot plate with a spatula and when it’s cooked he tells us that his wife, whom he refers to as “The Racobite” so we assume that she must be a non-drinker, will add tomato puree to it. The tooth not the whole plate. It seems that poor old Toothless is stalked by birds and swooped whenever they get the chance. The cheeky little buggers know him and pass the word around. However we manage to get ourselves a little lost. Woody jumps out of the car and asks a local, who’s washing his car,  where we can find Zilzie. Mulambin Mumblings – Emu Park Market

Aug 2019, Emu Park, Capricorn Coast, Qld Emu Park farmer’s market is under the shade of the beach almond trees in a pretty park sandwiched between the caravan park and the beach. The location lends to the atmosphere. The beach almonds with their large red and green leaves, the colourful stalls and glimpses of glittering ocean. At last we find pineapple jam and Joyce the jam maker tells us that she simply cuts the pineapple, boils it, adds sugar and pectin and that’s it. Bloody lovely, we reckon.
