For those travelling north up Highway 1 and in need of an overnighter that is away from both the traffic and busy coastal towns then this low cost freedom camp fits the bill. We dropped in while touring the area around Ballina, NSW and the Old Teven school looks like a nice free camp with level sites in the paddock and fire pits. There are no facilities as it is for self contained vehicles but being only a few kilometres off the highway with easy access and being a 72 hour camp it would make a perfect overnight stop.
