The Wally Pub

Spring 2013 As we enter the mountain encircled hamlet of Walhalla there is a Nova caravan invitingly parked on the lawn amongst the white English daises looking just like an advertisement for caravanning. We have lunch at the Wally Pub sitting on the veranda in the sunshine. There is a flowering plum tree beside us and the pink petals are floating on the warm breeze and drifting through the pub door like confetti. Old Teven School Site

For those travelling north up Highway 1 and in need of an overnighter that is away from both the traffic and busy coastal towns then this low cost freedom camp fits the bill. We dropped in while touring the area around Ballina, NSW and the Old Teven school looks like a nice free camp with level sites in the paddock and fire pits. There are no facilities as it is for self contained vehicles but being only a few kilometres off the highway with easy access and being a 72 hour camp it would make a perfect overnight stop.     Continue reading Old Teven School Site
