Sep 2019, Nambucca Heads, NSW We have another night punctuated with scratching, cursing and searching for the Stingoes. Those Wooli munchers really did a job on us and we’re such slow learners, we must remember that no happy hour can … Continue reading Nambucca Noodlings – A fiery sunset
Day 54, 5/9/2019 Thursday Wooli to Nambucca Heads, hot 25 We wake up scratching. Bloody midge bites, so much for the gorgeous sunset. Midges or not it’s hard to leave this relaxing place with well maintained lawns and gardens, river frontage and plenty of birdlife. We stop for a coffee in Woolgoolga (aka the Sikh town). We haven’t been here for years and we want to see how it has grown. It is much bigger and there is a second temple but we can’t smell the curry that was all pervading last time we camped here. The curve of beach … Continue reading Follow the Sun, Day 54 Nambucca Heads

Day 52, 3/9/2019 Tuesday Chinderah to Wooli, 27 We pull out of the park into peak hour traffic but thankfully most of the traffic is going north to the Gold Coast. Further enhancing my theory that Brisbane, Gold Coast & Sunshine Coast are rapidly merging into one very large city. Woody wants to know where they’re all going. How quickly we forget that some people do work. We’re contemplating this when we start bouncing. Oh shit! Not a puncture. We pull over and check the tyres, the car, the van. Gotcha! Bloody New South Wales concrete roads! We always forget … Continue reading Follow the Sun, Day 52 – Wooli or wonti?
Day 51 2/9/2019, Maryborough, Qld to Chinderah, NSW, 28 degrees It’s a bright sunny morning with only a few tweety birds to wake us. We had hoped to catch up with our mate the One Fish Wonder and his missus … Continue reading Follow the Sun, Day 51 – The plane, the plane!
