Day 27 Friday 1/7/2022 Kenilworth, wet, wet, wet 13 – 17 We have morning sprinkles. It’s pleasant just wandering around in gumboots. We stock up on yoghurt and chocolate mousse at the Kenilworth Dairy and the boys do a little advance packing up to make things easier for tomorrow. It’s been a relaxing week here but it’s time to move on. The weather band is moving slowly and dowsing most of Queensland and New South Wales. This means our plans to head west of the range may have to be shelved. El Prado hears that his two Sunshine Coast brothers … Continue reading Breakdown Blues – Day 27 – Itchy Feet
Day 26 Thursday 30/6/2022 Kenilworth, humid 12 – 22 Whenever we’re in this area we like to pick up a few goodies from Buderim. Buderim Ginger and from Nutworks, chocolate coated macadamias and this year is no exception. However, school … Continue reading Breakdown Blues – Day 26 – Gone Nuts

Day 24 Saturday 19/6/21 Kenilworth, sunny with a cool breeze We expect the park to get busier today but no. It’s about one third full though the town is jumping. It’s a hilly town and walking the backstreets is a good workout for the legs but we probably undo it by buying another tub of chocolate mousse and a punnet of strawberries. Concerned about the upcoming school holidays we make bookings and plan the next few weeks in the lead up to our Capricorn Coast Mulambin stay. This is a constant worry as we always need a Plan B in … Continue reading Capricorn Dancers, Day 24 – Chihuahua!

There is no caravan park in the Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Kenilworth, Qld, they don’t need one. The showgrounds are huge and well maintained. When we arrive Brian the caretaker is moving his van under the newly renovated house that comes with the job. Given Queenslanders passion for moving buildings hither and thither I wonder where they moved the house from? We are backed up to colourful bromeliad gardens. There are brand new toilets and showers are just a short walk away. Across the street is Jocks and Frocks laundromat. The brightly painted shops of town are busy and … Continue reading Kenilworth Showgrounds
