Day 24 Wednesday 1/7/2026 Kenilworth, sunny 12 – 21

Woody is up early to do the washing at Socks n Jocks across the road from the showgrounds. I’m surprised that the washing didn’t take itself there (now there’s a challenge for AI, instead of trying to take away the joy from writing, teach dirty clothes to wash themselves).

It’s another magnificent morning, warm bright sunshine is drying up the puddles. Our neighbours are all moving off leaving us with even more space.

The couple on our kitchen side told us last night that they were returning home from a trip to Cape York (aka a trip to the tip). They loved the farm stays but at one farm they were asked to leave after having stayed only one night. It seems that the hosts’ son had just escaped from a maximum-security psychiatric facility! I’ll bet that was a fast hitch up.

This arvo we wander the Main Street, buy donuts from the renowned Kenilworth Bakery and a few specialty cheeses from the Kenilworth Dairy to nibble on for happy hour.

Dinner is an eye fillet steak.
