Day 26 Thursday 30/6/2022 Kenilworth, humid 12 – 22
Whenever we’re in this area we like to pick up a few goodies from Buderim. Buderim Ginger and from Nutworks, chocolate coated macadamias and this year is no exception. However, school holidays mean that both outlets are very busy. When we were in this area last year we discovered Eumundi Brewery Ginger Beer which is a lightly alcoholic ginger beer but less sweet than most. It’s only available in this region so we drop into the home of Eumundi Brewery, The Imperial Hotel. I’ve a sneaking suspicion that this pub just may have been my Dad’s watering hole when he was stationed near Eumundi during the War. A visit to IGA and the cabbages are still ridiculously dear, $18 each. My Nanna would turn in her grave. We pick up a roast chook and scamper back to the hinterland. As El Prado says “I’m a caravanner, get me out of here!”

The humidity builds and the sky darkens until we get a short shower around 4:00pm. Frogs croak and an elegant egret stalks the creek, it is a warm and clear evening with that washed clean smelling air.

Accom: $25.00

I liked this brief, descriptive, paragraph, appealing to all the senses: “The humidity builds and the sky darkens until we get a short shower around 4:00pm. Frogs croak and an elegant egret stalks the creek, it is a warm and clear evening with that washed clean smelling air.” And the sunset reflected on the car
