Day 39 Sunday 4/7/21 Tannum Sands, sunny 23 The sun is shining. We fling open the windows and the roof hatches, sweep off the rain and mud spatters. The birds are singing and the coughing neighbour’s useless husband is trying to pack up. We’re taking bets on how long he’ll take. We have refreshing walks on the beach. There are dozens of ships offshore waiting their turn to enter Gladstone harbour. We snooze in the sun. And cook pan fried salmon with brown rice salad for dinner. All is right with the world again. Day 37 Friday 2/7/21 Tannum Sands, more rain 23 This trip we’re learning a lot about precipitation. It starts raining again just after breakfast, thankfully it’s already a pleasant 20 degrees. Driving over to Boyne Island is a much quieter shopping experience than in Bundaberg. If Covid has taught us one thing it’s an appreciation of less crowded places. Day 36 Thursday 1/7/21 Woodgate to Tannum Sands, warm 26 Not to be beaten I drag out the shorts again for another try. We have warm sunshine at last and Woody can sit in the sun.
