Aug 2020, Evans Head, NSW We’re getting itchy feet again especially after our feral neighbour experience. We cook burgers in the camp kitchen and toss up where we’ll go next. August 2020, Evans Head, NSW Briefly escaping our feral neighbours at Evans Head and with VeeWee and Nic in the back seat we drive over to Coraki just to see what’s there, as so many roads in these parts seem to lead to it. Or Sanitiser and unavoidable touch points We have been ‘on the road’ for 60 or so days since leaving Victoria at the end of the first lockdown. With no plans we now find ourselves wandering around northern New South Wales trying to avoid the virus and discover warm and interesting places to enjoy. Banned on the Run, Day 58 – Blonding up again

Day 58 Friday 7/8/20 Evans Head, overcast storm brewing, cold wet The park empties a little as Queenslanders high tail it for home before the border closes. We wake to a hot morning and heavy cloud but by 9:00am it’s chilly. Rain is forecast for the afternoon. I escape to walk on the beach while Woody cooks kidneys for breakfast. August 2020, Evans Head, NSW Woody’s hearing is getting worse. C & L bid their farewells, with forms completed they’re off to Coolum, QLD. We laze in the sun and have haircuts in town. Everything is so close here. We really don’t need the car. Woody’s brother, Woody the Elder and his wife The Very Good Golfer have booked the cabin behind us, they’ll come down from Qld for the weekend. We’d better dig his dim sims* out of the freezer. Day 51 Friday 31/7/20 Wooli to Evans Head, cool I’ll miss the little tree hopper bird with the loud cheep cheep that wakes us every morning. I won’t miss the ‘carry you away’ mozzies in the creek behind us. Our GPS is confused again, it’s the Pacific Highway roadworks north of Yamba that are doing her in. She constantly tells us to drive in the right hand lane, but we won’t as that’s the lane currently being used for southbound traffic.
