Day 15, 28/7/2019 Sunday, Tannum Sands, 24 This place is so relaxing that this morning I jumped out of bed feeling as though I had finally caught up on my sleep. With gusto I dragged the ukulele out from under the bed and instantly botched the F chord. Poor Woody was groaning. You’ve guessed it, the nails are too long. My Shimano beach sandals have died and I’m quite sure that most of our friends will cheer. I bought these trusty rock hopping, floatable sandals at BCF Mt Isa in 2014. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the area, Mt Isa is about 500kms from the sea. These trusty shoes have travelled tens of thousands of kilometres, trudged beaches of the Pacific, Indian and Southern oceans and kept me afloat in a murky river on a hot day. Day 13 26/7/2019, Friday Bundaberg to Tannum Sands 16 – 25 It’s a perfect night for sleeping and we wake to birds singing and a warm dry morning.
