Capricorn Dancers, Day 90 – Saying goodbye

Day 90 Tuesday 24/8/21 Mulambin, humid 25

It’s a funny old day, we have cloud cover, heat then more cloud. Woody slowly does the pack up jobs. Things like putting the fridge back in the car, cleaning and pulling in the awning. Slowly our little home starts to take on a temporary look. We take last walks on the beach and I meet an old turkey on the beach but he doesn’t have much to say. The Prado’s grab us some nice fish from the Co-op. We hear that there’s been a crocodile sighting on Yeppoon’s main beach.

Happy hour is only us and the Prado’s now and we loll about like rubbery figures wondering where the last 6 weeks have gone. We’re surrounded by honeyeaters, turkeys and pigeons. Yep, it’s been a nice place alright. Time to go in now, we’ve got a long drive ahead of us tomorrow.

  1. The dreaded pack up! When were on the road full time it was much easier. A pack up just meant a new back yard ahead of us, a new place to see. Having a home to go to is nice, but also a tie. I loved the freedom of being on the road full time without any home to pull us back except our home on wheels. Sadly it didn’t go to plan though.
