This morning I was roused from my morning blog reading to the news that a whale had beached itself on nearby Sawtell beach, directly in front of the surf club. It was a sad sight to see as only yesterday we were watching the whale spouts in the distance as they headed north along the coast. As of the last news authorities were waiting for veterinary experts to arrive but the wet weather we are experiencing at present could be of assistance.

I hope they manage to save it.

Yes the weather has been too bad
They had hoped to put a sling around it and tie it out on the high tide but the weather was too rough and probably time running out for the little fella anyway.

Such a shame and so sad but I guess these things happen.

Very upsetting I just hope they can get it back out to sea and on its way again.

Sadly, jut today ive seen 3 baby deer that didn’t make it across the highway. Such a waste.

At least on new highways here they build complex animal fences and crossings but we can never fence all roads.
