Nambour on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is a modern version of what it was 30 odd years ago when we visited regularly. Sadly, the big old sugar mill has been replaced by a supermarket. Of course, this means that the cane train no longer rumbles across the Bruce Highway leaving a trail of sugar cane on the roadway. The tracks thankfully are still there as a reminder of days gone by.

They should put a tourist tram on the old tracks, doesn’t anybody think outside of the square.
