Spring 2018, Loch, Vic
Escaping from our caravan park on a wintry Spring Sunday afternoon we visited the Gippsland Wine Company at Loch to be pampered by our gracious hosts Mark and Jane. We not only tasted their range but learnt a little as well. After choosing a wine we adjourned to the veranda to cook our BYO lunch on the garden BBQ.
For an hour or so the sun shone on the valley views that are so typical of West Gippsland; rolling hills, dairy cows grazing and stands of tall gums. A small dam at the bottom of the valley completed the picture.
When the weather closed in again we returned to the warmth of the fire in the Tasting Room to learn more of the life of a vigneron in this idyllic region.
You’ll find the Gippsland Wine Company on the South Gippsland Highway at Loch and the charming Loch Village with its cafes, distillery and antiques is just across the road. Why not make a weekend of it and stay at the Loch Memorial Reserve Campground which is only walking distance away?
