Day 106 Thursday 24/9/20 Mylestom, sunny 24
Shopping in Toormina and strolling around Sawtell I spot a blouse on sale. It’s a perfect chance to grab a bargain before going home and without risking a busy shopping centre.
We all take walks on the beach at various times, though I doubt that the others talk to the birds. No, rethinking that I think El Prado probably would as we’ve sprung him chatting to quite a few furry and feathered friends on this trip.
We have new neighbours and they tell us that they were touring Tasmania in March. They spent three quiet nights away from the world at Arthur River on the remote West Coast. When they emerged from the wilderness they found that the world as they knew it had changed. With Tasmania going into island lockdown they never did make it to Hobart.
We love this caravan park but the management are an odd lot. The pool, mini golf and enclosed camp kitchen are closed supposedly due to Covid whereas the other parks we’ve stayed at have had most facilities open and staff are vigilant with their cleaning regime. We wonder if the demand at school holiday time will force them to open these facilities. Woody asks at the office for a can of Coca Cola as there are none in their fridge. “Must be out the back.” Says the girl on duty and doesn’t move a muscle. Hmmm.
I don’t think I’ve ever come away with the van pantry so poorly stocked but in hindsight when the 1st lockdown started I emptied the van pantry expecting to be at home for 6 months. I guess I didn’t put enough stock back on board did I?

What a beautiful rich red on that flower.
Sounds to me as though the park staff don’t deserve their customers.
