It’s a long way to the top, Day 108 – How ironic, if you wanna rock n roll

Day 108 Saturday 20th Sept 2014 Deniliquin to Melbourne

It was a cold night and we wake to the sound of corellas. Now it is icy cold and there is a clear blue sky. A perfect day for a drive back home …to the bottom.

I’ve been singing this damned song for 107 days and on the fence outside our caravan park we find this sign!

Towing Kms: 355Kms

Summary

14,708kms

108 days, 107 Nights

Average Nightly Accommodation cost $27.55

Average daily fuel cost $33.76

35 iconic (and not so iconic) Aussie pubs

3 pens

2 notebooks

Bass Strait to the Gulf of Carpentaria and back.

2021 Note: We weren’t to know then, in Sept 2014, that 9 months later we would have completed a figure 8 of Australia. It wasn’t planned it just happened. Friends decided to get married in WA and we (and Double or Nuthin’ and Shirley Temple and VeeWee) thought that taking the caravans would be more fun than flying…  Where to now? (for those who are new to this blog was published in April 2020).

It was a long way to the top, but gee it was interesting.
