Day 23 Wednesday 31/5/2023, Narrabri, 4 – 21 cloudy
We farewell Vee who is off to Bingara. Woody walks into town. We girls drive to the shops as VeeWee needs a prescription filled. After a long wait, she must return to the park to get proof of ID. In the meantime, Elle and I find a rather inviting coffee shop called Yield and settle in for a while. An obviously local woman stops Elle in the street and asks if perhaps she doesn’t feel the cold seeing that she is in a sleeveless top. Crikey, and we think it’s warm. Woody returns to camp with a bag of apples for the horses. I sketch the stable yards and we read while watching the comings and goings of the campground.
Once more we debate our stopovers between here and the coast with the aim of manageable driving days and a laundry at one stopover.
Dinner is curry prawn pies, from home.
While MasterChef contestants grapple with lemon chicken, Woody is leaping about the caravan trying to swat flies with a tea towel.

Woody bakes a large assortment of pies before each trip. For those nights when we want something easy.
