We had been in a free camp for several warm lazy days. Bush walks, the river gurgling in the background and bird watching on steroids. I’ve never seen so many birds. Just as we start to take this paradise for granted and in total contrast to the weather forecast the heavens opened. Annoying as it was we were able to collect 30 litres of water in our buckets to top up our tanks. If only we’d had more buckets or perhaps one of those schmick new vans with the built in water collection system that catches the water off the roof and funnels it into the water tanks. It’s nice to dream.

What exciting adventures

We could’ve done without the rain as Feb is meant to be our hottest driest month. Instead it was snowing over on the next mountain. Then the caravan leaked so we all jumped in the 4WDs and went to the pub. 🙂

Boaters have been making water collection devices for years. Try Youtube for some good ideas!😀

We used to be weekend sailors. When we were younger and a whole lot fitter we had two trailable yachts which is probably why caravanning now appeals so much.

Great idea….we will have to keep this in mind for the next time we are away in the caravan and get caught in a downpour.
