Back in 1998 Australians were captivated by the TV series SeaChange starring Sigrid Thornton and David Wenham. SeaChange offered visions of a pretty holiday town far enough from the city to make one feel carefree. Stressed out city lawyer Laura was in need of an escape and laidback Diver Dan provided the love interest in his boatshed by the sea. Throw in a cast of quirky characters and viewers were ready to make their own escape to ‘Pearl Bay’ every week.

So much so that even now we never cross the Barwon Heads bridge without remarking “There’s Diver Dan’s place!” These days the ‘boatshed’ is a fish café overlooking the water and Laura’s cabin can be hired for your own personal sea change holiday stays.
