Mulambin Mumblings – Toothless and Butterless

Aug 2019, Mulambin, Capricorn Coast, Qld

Toothless Johnno got his nickname when he broke a tooth off his denture plate a few years back, before he could finish his lunch a bird had flown off with it. The tooth not the whole plate. It seems that poor old Toothless is stalked by birds and swooped whenever they get the chance. The cheeky little buggers know him and pass the word around.

So, we’re not surprised when Toothless Johnno butters his toast, turns away to get his egg and a blue faced honeyeater swoops down and starts eating the butter off his toast – “Bloody vermin” says Toothless.
