Gumma Reserve is situated on the Warrell Creek just east of Macksville. This is a well maintained campground with toilets, water (drinkable) and every campers friend a dump point. There are plenty of level grassy sites and a sheltering backdrop of bushland. Fires are permissible when conditions are safe. Fees apply, cash only. It’s a short drive of about 5 minutes to Macksville for supplies. It’s far enough away from highways to be peaceful. We have visited this spot twice and the only reason that we haven’t stayed is that one of our favourite caravan parks is in nearby Nambucca Heads.

If there are mangroves nearby, count me out. Sandflies live in mangroves!

Ha ha! I grew up on Westernport surrounded by mangroves. Sandflies never bothered me nor the mosquitos that were like B52 bombers. Whenever we had city visitors Dad took great delight in marching them down to the beach to see the ?sights? And watch them slap and jump and moan. Cheap entertainment of the fifties.

Presumably Nambucca Heads is better supplied with dunnies.
