South West Rocks, NSW
Some 460kms north of Sydney, South West Rocks is on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. That’s roughly halfway between Sydney and Brisbane. South West Rocks has a population in excess of 5000 and is a popular spot for holidaymakers and retirees alike. The rural town of Kempsey is nearby and services the region.
Just south of the mouth of the Macleay River, the town is nestled between South West Rocks Creek and Saltwater Creek overlooking Trial Bay and the smaller Horseshoe Bay. Needless to say it’s perfect for those who like to throw a line in. For history buffs there’s an excellent little museum and evidence of ferry wrecks can be found along the Trial Bay Beach. A short drive south is Trial Bay Gaol and the Smokey Cape lighthouse. There are enough shops, a couple of pubs in the area and a butcher of renown. In fact, there’s enough to keep you here for a longer stay.

Something for everyone then. I like the ferry wreck shot
