Yackety Yack, Day 11 – Lost in the Orange Botanic Gardens

Day 11 Friday 19/5/2023 Orange, 0 – 12 frost then warm sun

The caravan beside us and too cold to get up

Thank goodness again for electric blankets. This morning both the car and caravan were iced over. Woody takes VeeWee and Mrs. Have a Chat shopping while I endeavour to catch up on blogs. Although it’s cold the sun is deliciously warm when out of the breeze.

We girls, take a drive around town and up to the Orange Botanic Gardens. We’ve been ribbing Mrs. Have a Chat about her navigation, she tells us that her family has no idea how she ever managed to do the Big Lap of the country. There’s an historic house called Emmaville somewhere in the gardens so we give Mrs. Have a Chat the map and set off to find it. Eventually, we come across an old wooden church building and assume that this is Emmaville. Though we are a little deflated. It’s not until happy hour that we realise that ‘Emmaville’ was near where the car was parked!

While the sun is warm, we have an early happy hour but by 4:00pm the cold sends us indoors. We pack the sullage and water hoses away as we don’t want to contend with frozen hoses on a frosty morning hitch-up.

Dinner is last night’s leftovers miraculously turned into a pasta sauce.

We’ve had enough of the cold weather now and it’s lost most of its novelty. We’ve decided to head north to Coolah where it should be warmer.

    1. It is bamboozling at times, reading about your spring while we’re admiring the autumn leaves. While we’re on the road we seem to go through so many different types of weather. Only yesterday a woman commented on Elle wearing short sleeves in cold weather…we thought it was warm.
