Yackety Yack, Day 15 – Frogs legs anyone?

Day 15 Tuesday 23/5/2023 Gunnedah, 1 – 22 Nice

It’s doona hugging cold in the wee hours of the morning. Woody does another load of washing at the laundromat in town while I hug that doona. There’s only one washing machine here and the girls still have washing to do. but it quickly turns to a glorious day. The sky above the shower roof hatch is a brilliant blue.

We walk the town and shop. It’s a bustling town and there’s an impressive and unusual town hall with a grand clock tower that you can’t miss. We’ve learned a few things about Gunnedah, those mooing cows are a part of the 150,000 that pass through the sale yards annually. It’s the largest in New South Wales. And while we’re on the subject of cattle…leather produced in Gunnedah is used to make Kookaburra cricket balls.

Little Nic the poodle has developed a gland infection on her rear end. Poor old VeeWee is regularly treating it, which sounds a bit yucky to non-dog owners like us. I’m wondering if a squirt of Spray n Wipe to the rear end would be a whole lot easier and a choc coated aniseed ring would make a perfect ring cushion for a toy poodle.

We have an early happy hour in the sun as the chill drops early.

Dinner is lamb chops and vegetables.

You’ve gotta love the TV advertisement advising us to “Check your load for a toad”. Cane toads are an introduced species that are poisonous to our wildlife and spreading across the country faster than they can be controlled .

Good looking rooster isn’t he?
