Yackety Yack, Day 31 – We didn’t expect the dog to get high

Day 31 Thursday 8/6/2023 Murwillumbah, sunny 10 – 23

Woody sets up his new fridge. I guess you can say that we’ve downsized from a 48 can to a 21 can model. Cleaning gets in the way today, as it always does when we’ve been staying in a few dusty places. Woody goes hardware shopping in Tweed Heads. Woody isn’t the only one with a new toy, VeeWee has a new and larger TV to solve a persistent problem…she couldn’t see the footy scores from her bed! Now she can. Elle is working on mastering a new task each day and today it’s time to master the awning on her own. I walk into town, it’s only a block away, and purchase some archival paper for the sketches of The Shop at Gravesend. Yellow Brick Studio has a warm and atmospheric space selling art supplies above the M’arts Centre and the staff are helpful.

Little Nick’s bum problem flares up again and VeeWee takes her to the vet in Queen Street. She has an infected scent gland and returns home after an injection with antibiotics and a ‘show bag’ of doggie goodies. The deer antler chew gets a big lick of approval. We’ve had a few laughs about hemp shops and alternate folk but now poor old Nic is off her tree.

Elle goes out for dinner in town with a friend, this certainly is catch-up time.

Accom: $30.00

Note: The Regent Theatre, Murwillumbah is owned and managed by Allira Cornell, daughter of actors and comedy team Delvene Delany and the late John (Strop) Cornell.
