Day 14 Friday 27/6/2025 Murwillumbah, a little cloud 9 – 19
It’s a bright sunny morning but just a little cool by the time we meet Woody’s brother Woody the Elder and our sister-in-law the Very Good Golfer at the Tumbulgum Tavern for lunch. Once more we talk ourselves hoarse over lunch and make plans to catch up again in the next few weeks.

After lunch we make a quick dash into Tweed Heads for a bottle of Portasol toilet chemical from Bunnings hardware. My apologies to non-caravanners for discussing toilet chemicals but finding the one that suits your needs is a ‘trial and error’ problem and can take years of odorous research. Portasol is the best we’ve found and it’s quick, easy and cheap with a nice fragrance.
We return over the Terranora Ridge. Some of the homes up here have views over both Surfers Paradise and the Gold Coast as well as the Tweed Valley. It reminds me that as a kid on holiday we were shown this area being laid out for future housing estates…that was way back in 1959, it’s come on somewhat!
Dinner is light, spring rolls and a salad.

Accom: $35.00

It is unsurprising that Tweed Heads would be he place to go to for toilet chemical

The nearest Bunnings hardware store. It’s one of those places where you go in for a bag of washers and come out with all you need to renovate the house.

I can imagine that talk of toilet chemicals between you and your camper buddies is a well illustrated subject. The pub looks great and the simple meal just my cup of tea.
