Old Gold – Diver Dan

An amble through Victoria’s Goldfields region.

Day 7 Tuesday 14/10/2025 Home to Maldon, sunny 19

After 14 hours of sleep and feeling tender but much better, I see the doctor. The verdict is a dose of Diver Dan, diverticulitis, oh the joys of getting older. I tell the doc that we’d like to get back to our mates and continue our holiday, and he suggests that it would be a dose of ‘nature’s anti-depressant’. I donate a few drops of bodily fluids to medical science, we race home, hitch up and go.

Back up the Calder Highway, me dozing while Woody drives, once again the traffic is moderate, and we meet the others at the Maldon Caravan Park. This is a shocker of a park. The Angels, the Bridesmaid and H the Trivia Queen are in cabins. Woody the Elder is down from Queensland and residing in his son’s camper and our recently found cousin ‘Bert’ has arrived in his camper.

Oh, it’s a noisy afternoon and evening, with so much to catch up on. The crew cook burgers on Toothless’ BBQ and I have …soup.

Gawd, this is a shocker of a caravan park.
