Yarram Wet & Wild – Day 8 – A Sweet Finish

Yarram, Vic

Day 8 Saturday 29/11/2025 Yarram to Home, wet again!

It rained all night. We tried to delay our pack up, but we gave up waiting for the rain to stop. We just got wet anyway.

Now Woody has the van hooked up, he’s ready to drive out, but needs some wide swing room. The chap opposite is also hooked up and part way out of his site when he decides to take the dog for a walk. All I can hear is Woody “and now the stupid … is taking the …dog for a walk!” Yep, he’s wild, wet and wild.

At Welshpool they’re having sheep dog trials and there’s a pen full of soggy sheep. At Meeniyan we weaken, so while Woody empties the toilet cassette at the dump point, I dash into the bakery to buy coffee and their Breakfast Donuts filled with sweet and tart lemon curd. They are curious creations but delicious all the same. The lemon offsets the sweetness of the cinnamon sugar perfectly.
