On the Wrong Track

As we are leaving Mudgee we discover the now disused but grand railway station and a local tells us that it is in fact the Yass station building, apparently someone in Sydney mixed up the plans and the smaller town of Mudgee got the much more imposing station building.

    1. Ah therein lies the difference. All of our public railways were built by the government and in the old days they often built beautiful stations. Our private railways are usually for the carrying of minerals from mines to ports.
