From October to March most Australians hold their breath in silent hope that nature won’t be too harsh on us this year. In the southern states the fear is for bush fires. In the tropical north its cyclone season. Sadly once more nature has unleashed a damaging cyclone. Cyclone Debbie is lashing the Whitsunday Coast of Queensland with 260 kmh winds and all that they bring. Our hearts go out to our mates in Queensland.

We in the US are certainly not immune. Two names…Katrina and Sandy come to mind. I wish the best for all affected.

We are hunkered down in Gladstone and copping Debbie’s remnants. Hope everyone is staying safe!

I cringe at a tiny and rare earth tremor and Storm Doris shook up the garden furniture and brought a few fences down recently, but this … I hope everyone coped ok.

The cyclone has petered out but absolutely drenching most of the east coast. Yet here in Melbourne glorious sunshine.

We’re too far south, but the folks on the NSW / Qld border are up to their waists in very dirty water.

Sounds awful. We’ve had the odd flood in our utility room when the rain’s been heavy which is bad enough.
