Tuross Head on the New South Wales south coast is set on a high ridge with stunning views over the lakes, river mouth and sand spit. On the cliff top I chat to a local man who tells me that sometimes emus can be seen on the sand spit. Now that would be a sight to see.

We in the UK always have the impression that you see Emus as frequently as cats or dogs. Obviously that is not the case!

They’re not as prevalent as kangaroos but still there are millions of them. Both tend to stay away from populated areas. Like Roos they are fascinating creatures and it’s always exciting to see them.
