Across Victoria’s wheatbelt old concrete silos have been painted with exquisite murals to breathe life into small towns. Lascelles is one such place. A pub, an RV overnight stop and a delicately painted silo evocative of a life lived on the land.
In the last few years doing the ‘silo trail’ has become a bucket list must for grey nomads visiting Victoria thus bringing valuable tourist dollars to these tiny dots on a very large map.

Nicely photographed – can’t have been easy not to burn out the detail

Thanks Derrick. The images were tricky being so subtle and a searingly hot day too. Rather tricky things silos because some are still in use and there are wires and doors and industrial bits everywhere.

This is happening quite a lot in France too. A great way to celebrate these monoliths.

There’s nothing like a little art to perk people up and get them talking.
