Day 17 Sunday June 22nd 2014 Maroochydore
It is a warm sunny morning and as we are beside the sand dune the surf pounds constantly. To my mind that’s not a bad soundtrack.
We drive up to Noosa and find it difficult to find a park. There are hundreds strolling along Hastings Street. We can’t believe how much this area has changed and find it difficult to get our bearings as little is recognisable. We used to know this area so well when my parents lived here in the 1980’s now the bushland is houses and the beach shacks are high rise. Suddenly the weather changes and it rains heavily. Sodden we dive into Cafe Le Monde and have a delicious lunch. By the time we leave the rain has passed and things are drying out. Yep, that’s Queensland.
It is a mild evening, so we BBQ steaks outside then all squeeze around the TV to watch A Place Called Home. Yep, that’s caravanning.

Such changes wrought by 30 years surprise me over here, too.
