The nice thing about blogging is the chance to revisit places in your mind. As you transcribe the scribbled notes the memories flood back vividly. Even more so for sketching. Urban sketching can mean sitting in the sun drawing of all things, a toilet block. Woody thinks I draw too many toilets.
Travel sketching allows you to both remember the place and time and to explore the details of that building that caught your eye or the old wooden camp kitchen where the bacon and eggs were so delicious.

Lovely drawings! My blogs are my memory sometimes, I refer back to them when we’re trying to remember the where, what, when of our travels. 🙂
