Daylesford, Vic
It would have been nice to have stayed in Daylesford for another week just to sketch the variety of buildings around town. Vincent Street remains as it was at least 65 years ago, though the wares certainly are different these days. Sitting on the footpath drinking coffee would have been unheard of when I was a kid camping on the lake, though it was around that time that Melbourne was beginning to fall in love with espresso. But back to Daylesford, there would have been a baker, and a grocer, certainly not a supermarket, and who would have bought knitwear when you could have cheaply knitted your own? And Wellness Centres? You’d have to be out of your mind!
