Flinders Ranges – Sketches on the way to SA

When we’re on the road and I get the chance, I’ll do a quick sketch. At night while Woody is ‘sawing wood’ and all else is quiet, I’ll take the time to work from photos. Pics of the interesting buildings that have caught my eye. They may be grand or in ruins, but they’re all worth remembering. Especially, in this lot the flock of pigeons who had taken up residence in an abandoned pub at peterborough. Woody was filling the car with diesel and the fluttering of birds to the building next door caught my eye. Yep, that’s a very large dovecote!

    1. Give it a go Ingrid, only a couple of years ago I was too was drawing stick figures. They say that everyone has the ability to draw and it is soooo relaxing, a sort of meditation. Something in these blogs lit a spark for me, I think it was someone who put glasses on stick figures and that’s all it takes. I googled a couple of ‘how to draw’ sites and started following a few artist’s blogs Pete Scully, Shari Blaukopf. All it takes is a pencil and paper and the secret is to draw something every day! A square, a triangle, a circle and you’re on your way. You go girl!
