Day 6 Saturday Mansfield to home, 9 – ? (I forgot to look)
Our short break is over. We stop to change drivers at Yea, and I notice a piece of caravan gear on the side of the road…oh shit it’s our front window cover!
Cruising down Eastlink near Dandenong there’s a big gust of wind and our left-hand side towing mirror does an acrobatic tumble, thankfully we catch it in time.

Summary
Days, 5 Nights
Accom: $200.00, Fuel: $35.91 (and probably a little more)
Repairs: $??heaven knows, we’re still waiting on a replacement window cover.
Total Kms: 653kms
Footnote: We often laugh about how we lose or break something on every trip. The situation is so crazy that after one winter trip with the Prado’s we were flabbergasted to realise that we hadn’t actually had anything break! That was a first. For those who are unfamiliar with the construction of a caravan, timber is used in the structure for lightness and internally there is a lot of glue and staples. This does seem rather horrifying at first but this funny little (or not so little) box on wheels needs to be able to flex and warp as to the whim of the potholed road, creek crossing or cow paddock. Even when not on the road, it will become a scratching post for cattle, horses and sheep. Ours has even been head butted by an inattentive kangaroo.

Been loving your travels. Hope a new front window cover isn’t needed.

It’s on order, which won’t be cheap. ☹️
