Day 21 Friday 4/7/2025 Wooli, NSW, sunny 10 – 19
We have a relaxing day reading in the sun, trying not to finish this book and walking. The park is peacefully quiet but not for long. New South Wales school holidays have just started and by late afternoon the families start rolling in. It’s fascinating to watch the various camper trailers being unfolded and set up. And even more intriguing as to how many small bicycles they can carry.
We cook a chook in the air fryer for dinner along with peas, corn, potatoes and gravy.

Day 22 Saturday 5/7/2025 Wooli, NSW, cloudy 10 – 20
It’s a day of more walks around the park and along the river. There’s a car show setting up out front that we check out on our way to the café. It’s always disconcerting to see a model that you once owned bearing historical plates.
The container-built café ‘The 383’ is a new addition to the park and has two floors of indoor adventure playground to keep the kids amused while weary parents sip a latte. Sitting outside amongst potted palms is most pleasant.

We spend the afternoon walking, and I go in search of suitably rustic shacks to sketch, but it seems that everything is either freshly renovated or tarted up for rental. I find Woody in the Bowlo having the beer he’s earned from another 8km walk.

It’s a very short stroll out of the front gate for dinner at the pub next door. We don’t even need a torch as everything is well lit. We’ve heard that the pizzas are good here and the one called Azzuri is excellent and delicious. There’s plenty of entertainment to keep us amused as there’s a constant stream of pizza boxes going out for takeaways and home deliveries. On the TV the Canberra Raiders are thrashing St. George Illawarra in the rugby and in the dining room the staff are in a tizz trying to control smoke that is billowing from the woodfire
