Day 42 Friday 25/7/2025 Nambucca Heads, sunny 7 – 18
Gosh, it was a cold night, but the day is lovely now and perfect for exploring.
We bundle into the car on a mission to show The BM some of the things that we love about this area. First stop is a quick look at the manicured Bonville Golf Course with its mix of plantings amongst the backdrop of eucalypts and bushland.

In Coffs Harbour we need a few ‘necessities’ at the shops so there is a bit of driving around to be done as this is quite a sprawling town.
To get an idea of the size of the place we head out towards Sealy Lookout, but we’re thwarted by the highway roadworks and today we can’t even venture up the hill. Coffs Harbour will blossom when the highway bypasses the city.
Not to be put out, we head to the boat harbour in search of lunch. The fish and chip shop on the wharf is seriously busy, but there’s a table on the deck of the yacht club overlooking the beach with chilled whites and fresh caught fish. How can we say no?

We cook dinner in The BM’s cabin, the Sri Lankan pan rolls are heated in the oven. The pan rolls were a recommendation from our mate Shirley Temple who happens to be a Sri Lankan Aussie and has a knack for finding food wholesalers. Hence Woody packed a large bag of pan rolls in the caravan freezer before we left home.
Unlike the pan rolls, the night is mild.
Accom: $46.00, Fuel: $52.08

I like the sound of those pan rolls.

Be a good, faster drive on M1 once that bypass is finished.

And it will be so good for Coffs, there’s no doubt that it will boom.
