Little Crystal Creek

There are some pretty drives up into the Hinterland behind Rollingstone and if you’re lucky you may find a fruit stall of farm fresh produce. Little Crystal Creek is one of the surprises.

5 Mile Creek

Hinchinbrook

Just north of Ingham, as you climb a small rise Hinchinbrook Island will suddenly appear before you. It’s one of those ‘blink and you’ll miss it moments’ and way prettier than arguing with Google Maps.

Murray Falls

A few minutes north of Cardwell is the turnoff to Murray Falls Campground. Acres of flat green tropical grass shaded by tall trees are just waiting for you to set up camp. That constant loud roar you can hear is Murray Falls gushing just beside the camping area. This place is magic and protected by the Range, which means that the night sky here is very starry.

Facilities are sparse, no tap water, no power and a not so endearing toilet… It’s a good chance to give your own a serious workout.
