The experts say that the intensity of bushfires these days causes the fire to create its own weather. In this image a fire burning in Bruthen 25kms away can be seen billowing in the sky above Metung.
The same fire creates a hellish sunset at Lakes Entrance.

Thankfully far from us but they are sickening and this season started so much earlier.

The images on TV tonight of bushfires currently raging were terrifying. It’s scary enough when the fires are traveling over grassland but when the fireballs race across treetops it really would be enough to stop a person’s heart!

They’re getting so much fiercer and when you think back this fire season started in Sept. we haven’t even had the hot weather yet.
