Day 28 Wednesday 23/6/21 Kenilworth to Kandanga, decidedly warmer 22
It’s only a short 20minute drive over the range to Kandanga. We pass through small farms to this tiny town.
The Kandanga Country Club is even neater than when we were last here in 2017 (Thanks for the tip D&M). John is still the genial caretaker and a welcome sight. We quickly drop the van and head to Gympie to stock up on vegetables and groceries. There are only two motorhomes here, a couple from nearby Maleny and a couple from WA who surprisingly play bowls with Woody’s brother (that’s Woody the Lawn Bowler) and nephew in Perth*.
It takes about two minutes to walk the town and the weather feels much warmer than yesterday. Happy Hour tonight is drinks on the club veranda with a couple of locals and the other campers. It’s quite a treat sitting on these large wooden lounges and overlooking the greens and the bushland beyond.
Accom: $17.00 Power, water, toilets & showers (the nearest dump point is at Imbil, 8kms away)
Towing Kms: 28kms
*Note: When we were here in 2017 we discovered that our camping neighbours were good friends of our friends back home. The people you meet in a place that few have heard of.
I like the way you caravaners pass on information to each other
